This romantic outdoor engagement proposal was designed and installed by Ultimate Creations NY on the terrace and garden grounds at Sands Point Preserve on Long Island. The concept centered on a dramatic but clean proposal reveal: oversized illuminated MARRY ME marquee letters, a long red carpet runner, a small candle-heart detail, and red floral accents set against the venue’s formal gardens, fountain, and waterfront views.

Design, Colors & Focal Area

The palette was intentionally simple and high contrast: white marquee lettering, vivid red carpet and florals, and the natural greens of the surrounding landscape. The illuminated letters created the main backdrop and photo focal point while the red carpet established a clear approach through the lawn. A compact grouping of candles formed a heart near the proposal position, and red floral accents reinforced the romantic color story without competing with the venue.

This project did not rely on balloon décor or table centerpieces. Instead, the styling focused on the proposal moment itself, using scale, lighting, aisle placement, and the existing landscape to create a polished outdoor installation that photographed well from both close and wide angles.

Outdoor Proposal Styling & Rentals

The visible rental and décor elements included the oversized marquee letters, red carpet runner, candles, and floral accenting. The setup was positioned to take advantage of the garden architecture and water view, creating a complete proposal scene rather than a freestanding backdrop alone. The result was a highly recognizable focal area that also left enough open space for photography and video coverage.
